ST MONICA GUILD in South Africa

Background and Establishment:

St Monica is a guild with twenty four members most of whom are single mothers who strive to raise their children in a God fearing environment and by honest means.

Our main activities are charity events as we try to live according to the virtues of our Patron Saint, St Monica the mother of St Augustine and in this regard, in April we managed to donate sanitary pads at Miriam Makeba girls centre in Midrand.

As “vana mai va St Augustine” as we are fondly referred to, we are identified by our purple and white uniform which means the following:-

Purple: Stands for being merciful, humble and forgiving
White : Stands for peace and being faithful.
